Six Spots for a Sweet Creamy Treat in Milford.

Summer has returned, and consequently, so has the heat. When the heat gets to be too
much, there is nothing better than an icy treat to cool off. Luckily, Milford is home to a number
of family owned and operated businesses for families to try out!

The Sundae House

The Sundae House has been open for the past 60 years, and has become a staple in Milford, especially to those in the Gulf Beach area. Located at 499 New Haven Ave. The Sundae House has a menu with over 40 flavors of hard ice cream, soft serve, slushies, lemon ice, floats, blazer blasts, and more! They also have several specialties, such as their brownie boats, banana boats, and Kathy’s Cookies Cookie Sandwiches. The Sundae House is open every day from 12-9.

 

 

Micalizzi’s

Micalizzi’s is an establishment new to Milford, having opened during the Summer of 2021.

Micalizzi’s is located right on the Milford Green, at 1 River St. Their menu is vast, with several flavors of italian ice, smoothies, ice cream, cookies and more! Micalizzi’s is open every day
from 12-8.

 

Frosty Twist

Frosty Twist is one of the few Frozen Yogurt spots left in Milford. The store first opened its doors in 2012 as a simple Frozen Yogurt cafe, and has since expanded their menu tremendously. The Frosty Twist offers frozen yogurt, ice cream, italian ice, ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes, as well as items such as crepes, waffles, sandwiches and more! Located on the Milford Green at 22 South Broad St. Frosty Twist is open, hours varying, every day.

 

 

The Cone Zone
The Cone Zone is another well known Milford establishment, having been in Milford for years, however, the store was taken under new ownership in YEAR. Their menu consists of 28 flavors of Gifford’s ice cream, as well as soft serve, dole whip, milkshakes, flurries, and more! The Cone Zone is located at 408 Boston Post Rd. and is open 12-9 every day.

 

 

Scooby Doo’s

Scooby Doo’s is Milford’s oldest ice cream spot Downtown. Their menu featuring Buck’s ice cream, paired with their beautiful patio makes a perfect spot for families. The store is located in Downtown Milford by the harbor, at 37 Helwig St. Scooby Doo’s offers several flavors of ice cream, italian ice, and gelato, with several gluten free and vegan options to choose from. The store is open seven days a week, hours varying.

 

 

Walnut Beach Creamery

Walnut Beach Creamery, another Milford staple, is the only store in Milford that offers Handcrafted Gourmet ice cream. All of their flavors are unique to their store, and created by their owners. Located at 17 Broadway near Walnut Beach, the store is open daily from 12-10. The store also offers catering via their custom ice cream truck.
